OUR STORY

Self-taught baker, Melissa has baked for her family and friends for years. It was only a matter of time before the family got together to create The Fat Macaron and Desserts specializing in macarons.

As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on using as many local ingredients as possible and supporting our farmers on Vancouver Island. We have our own garden in Oak Bay where we grow organic raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, rhubarb, logan berries, marionberries, gooseberries, lingonberry, black & red currants and limes to use for our recipes as much as possible.

We’re very conscious of our impact on the earth. One of the ways we’re different than other bakeries is we bake our cupcakes in silicone pans. We don’t serve our cupcakes with wrapping that ends up in our landfills. Our packaging is all paper boxes with no plastic wrapping.

We make our own blueberry, lemon and strawberry curds for our macaron fillings with fresh local fruit. We can’t wait to create a memorable experience through taste that all your guests, co-workers, family and friends will love!
